As those of you who know me already have figured out, I'm a bit of a BBQ nut. I love to try my hand at the latest idea that I scabbed from BBQPitboys.com or Smoky Ribs youtube channel. So now that spring is giving us a little bit of teasing, I think it's time for a reminder on BBQ safety. Here is a little barbecue safety article from our friends at InterNACHI: Barbeque Safety by Nick Gromicko With barbeque season already here, homeowners should heed the following safety precautions in order to keep their families and property safe.
| Here's the secret to my chicken since we're talking about the grill- POULTRY RUB 1 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp cayenne 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 1/4 tsp dried thyme 1/4 tsp dried oregano 1/4 tsp rubbed sage dash cumin Mix it all up, put a little but under the skin of the bird, throw some olive oil or vegetable oil on the outside of your particular favorite poultry, then sprinkle more of the rub on the outside. Don't be shy with this stuff, it's delicious. Put the meat on a grill running about 350 or so and cook until your trusty meat thermometer says 180 in the thigh or 160 in the breast. Don't overcook that chicken!!!! That's what makes it dry. Once it's done, cover it with foil for 20 or 30 minutes to rest, then invite friends. |
